One to Three Weeks – After filing the form, you will receive the Notice of Application or Form I-797C, which is the receipt of the application within one to three weeks. In case of mistakes on the form, you will receive a Notice of Action rejection along with a Request for Evidence that will ask you for additional documentation. Note down the 10-digit receipt number to be able to track your application status. Three to Five Weeks – If your application is accepted, you will receive the biometrics appointment letter and will be required to attend the appointment at an Application Service Center. The whole process usually takes around 30 minutes. After Eight Weeks to Six Months – USCIS will process your application after the biometrics is completed. If your application is approved, you will receive the new card in the mail on your given address. If the application is denied, you will receive a letter explaining the reason for the same. After Six Months – If you have still not received anything after six months from the application, you can inquire about its status from the USCIS. You might be required to attend an interview or take the English language and Civic Knowledge Test before you’re given the green card.
What should you do if your Green Card Renewal Application is rejected?
